Dont the cherry blossoms come out pretty soon? Walk along and check them out, stop and buy a couple hot dogs and a coke.
What about a park. And bring a great picnic blanket (and if you don't have a picnic basket, get a brown bag) and a picnic blanket with some great cheese and wine, and grapes, and small sandwiches, I think that would be really romanic. You could do all that for under 50.00 easy.

go to the mall(the place with all of the monuments) at nigt. it is beautiful and less crowded. best part? IT'S FREE!!!

Modern.. at Georgetown is suppose to be having a grand affair for a low price.. however.. why not just take the china town bus.. and head to NY for 35 bucks??
The best New Year's Eve I ever had, including the dinner, music, dancing, midnight toast and hotel room, in the DC area, was at Springfield Hilton. I'll send you the link from when I was there... still in my favorites because it was so awesome... and just keep an eye out for what they're doing this year :)

Does anybody know any restaurants in DC where servers make great money?

When I say great money, I mean 80-100 per shift on weekdays, and maybe 150+ on weekends. I've tried several restaurants and they all have been disappointments. I don't want anything too fancy and upscale, but I do want something that has consistent high volume and a decent tipping clientele. I need to pay off some credit card bills(not alot) so I figure serving part time would help me achieve this goal.Does anybody know any restaurants in DC where servers make great money?

If you're still in the DC area, there's a winery in Maryland called Linganore which carries Tej (I don't believe they make it, just carry it.).

In the website, they also list area retailers that carry their wines, so you may not have to trek all the way out to the winery...although they have free tastings so it could be worth the trip.
