What is the best way to get to Georgetown in DC (the street with all the restaurants/shops, etc.) from metro?

I know Georgetown doesn't have its own Metro stop, but walking is fine. I just need to know the closest stop and the name of the main street with all the cool stuff (and how to walk there) thanks! What is the best way to get to Georgetown in DC (the street with all the restaurants/shops, etc.) from metro?
For one other option on getting there, you can take the metro to Rosslyn Station in Virginia, then walk across the Key Bridge. There's also a shuttle bus that stops at the Rosslyn station and can take you across. That's always how I get there, just because the walk across the bridge is very nice in warm weather.

Once you cross the bridge, you'll take a right and that will put you on M street, which is one of the main drags. About half a mile down or so is Wisconsin Ave, going up the hill and to your left. That's the other big shopping street.
You can either catch a Georgetown Metro Connector at the Dupont Metro station (south exit and a block down 19th Street NW) or take a red DC Circulator bus which runs from Union Station through downtown to Georgetown.

The main streets in Georgetown are M Street NW and Wisconsin Avenue. What is the best way to get to Georgetown in DC (the street with all the restaurants/shops, etc.) from metro?
Foggy Bottom Metro. From there you have to take a bus. If you ask the Metro manager in the kiosk, he can tell you exactly what bus takes you into G-town.
Get off at the Foggy Bottom Metro Stop. Once you exit the station on the street level, make a left. This will take you to a circle. Make another left. Continue on the circle until it puts you on Pennsylvania Ave. Pennsylvania Ave will lead you all the way to M Street and Georgetown shops and restaurants. It is like a 15 minute walk from the Foggy Bottom stop.
