1001 Restaurant seems to be a popular one if you want to go try it before your date and see what you think!

There used to be a really funny, upscale (but cheap) Chinese restaurant called Mr. K's on K St, but it's gone now.



If you're looking for good drinks, try the Brickskeller over near DuPont. In DuPont itself, there's a nice Italian placed called El Tomate that's pretty decent.



If you're looking for something different, there's a hookah bar that serves tapas and good drinks over on U Street called Chi-Cha (I think that's spelled correctly), that's one of my favorite places to go. They primarily serve South American food and drinks, but everything is pretty tasty, and the atmosphere is neat.



The Diner over in Adams Morgan is good, and there's a lot of cool places in easy walking distance if you want to play pool or something after.
