How much to tip during Restaurant Week?

I'm in the Washington, DC area and it's "Restaurant Week." Nice restaurants offer appetizer, entree and dessert for a fixed price that is less than normal prices.



Do I tip the waiter based on what the price was for Restaurant Week or on the amount that the total would have been on another week? The difference isn't huge, but it can be more than a buck or two for the wait staff. What do you think?How much to tip during Restaurant Week?
We have restaurant week here in Dallas, too. We tend to tip as if we would have went there on any other night. The service is usually just as good as if it were full price. Since it is not that big of a difference spend the $$ on the tip because you will still be saving some money due to it being restaurant week. Happy eating!
As a former waiter, just tip 25 % no matter what. Unless of course if the service was bad, then tip the normal 15%. Horrible service, 10%.How much to tip during Restaurant Week?
I think you should always try to give at least 15%-20% based on the service you receive. Why not tip more if they treat you nice is my thought?
If you can afford it and you think the server deserves it--sure.
15% normally but if you like them more. I usually tip 1/3 of the bill.

If the service is extraordinary, I would tip as much as you want (as long as it is over 20%). If the service was awful, I would still tip but only 10-15%.

I tip based on the quality of service. Regardless of the quality, I recommend tipping based on the original price.
actually servers are going to expect to make a little less since the prices are lower and they are going to attract customers who might not normally dine there. You can ask the host/hostess what is normal during this week as well. I would tip accordingly to the check, 20% for good service perhaps more if they went above and beyond
being a person who makes a living by serving others, I would say what the original price is, before the discount. Servers do not make anything for an hourly wage, we rely solely on tips. But I am also a person who believes in tipping according to service as well. If the service was horrible- tip 12% of cost, average service 15-16%, above average 18%, excellent 20-22%
you tip about 15-20% EVERYTIME you go out to eat!

Personally, I think people should tip on what would be the normal price for items. Servers, waiters, waitresses, (whatever you want to call them) don't get paid a very good hourly wage, so I would tip on service, food quality and your whole dining experience. There are alot of people that go out during this "week" that would not normally go out. Keep that in mind.
just go based on the price of your check, but be more liberal about leaving a good tip if the service is good..
