Restaurant suggestions for DC?

Hi everyone,

I'm going to be in the Washington DC area this weekend for a Capitals game, and I wanted to know if anyone could make a suggestion for a good restaurant. My friends and I are picky eaters and although DC has plenty of good restaurants, we do want a restaurant that meet these criteria:

1. Sit-down service (no takeout)

2. Good, friendly service

3. Generous portions

4. It MUST be within walking distance of the Verizon Center or no more than a ten-minute Metro ride away)

5. No chain restaurants.

6. Preferably Italian, American/Continental.

Any suggestions?Restaurant suggestions for DC?

My personal favorites would be Zola, Clyde's, Jaleo and Tosca. Links them are all available at the above site.
Market Inn off of Rhode Island. The best Prime Rib and unbelievable seafood. Desserts to die for. Have fun. Trust me.Restaurant suggestions for DC?
District Chop House. One of the Best Steaks in town. They also have their own micro-brewery.
Galileo, Georgia Brown, Vidalia, Radicchio, Kinkead's, Clydes, Capitol Grill, Ann Cashion's Eat Place.
Matchbox, which is on 7th and H, right by the Verizon Center. My fave DC restaurant. Get the mini-burgers and the wood-fired pizzas. http://www.matchboxdc.com/

Second suggestion - Clyde's, on 7th street and practically adjacent to the Verzion Center. Americana fare, but classed up a bit. It's a "chain," technically, but you can only find them in DC: http://www.clydes.com/main/RestaurantsDe鈥?/a>

If you're looking for fun places to grab a beer after dinner, Fado and RFD are right next to each other on the corner of 7th and H.
