A friend is coming in for the day, Wednesday, and will stay at Federal Center SW . Time is tight . We want to visit for lunch and or dinner and go to a nice restaurant (up to $20 per person lunch, $30 dinner for dinner without drinks ) Any suggestions . Like someone else suggested I would recommend you going to the Maine Avenue Waterfront and the seafood buffet at Phillips Crab House is delicious and very popular from the crowds and well within your buffet.



There is not many fancy places to eat around Federal Center SW but I occasionally enjoy eating at the House of Representative FORD ANNEX CAFETERIA on 3rd Street just across the street as you come up the Federal Center SW Metro escalators that is open to the public and run by Greeks.

Go to the Market Inn. It is a very well known seafood restaurant. Your price range is definitely on the low side for a "nice" restaurant, though. Plan about $35 each for lunch and around $60 for dinner at a "nice" Washington DC restaurant. There are a number of good restaurants at the Washington Waterfront and Marina, in all kinds of ranges. In your range you could go to Jenny's an Asian Fusion restaurant with cloth tablecloths, candlelight and a beautiful view of the harbor and fish Market. Hogates is also a standard if you like seafood, and 700 Water Street. These are a very short cab ride away from L'Enfant, or take the orange or green line to Waterside Mall.
