Driving from NYC to washington dc- Is Baltimore on the way?

Driving from NYC to Washington dc- Is Baltimore on the way? We are leaving NYC about 4pm, will it be enough time to drop by Baltimore for some crab cakes? If so, which restaurant are convenient and good ?Driving from NYC to washington dc- Is Baltimore on the way?
Baltimore is on the way and the crabcakes are legendary, so it's not a surprise that you'd like to stop off there. Baltimore is just off I-95 and easy to navigate from that road. Put the Inner Harbour in your GPS or phone. Once at the Inner Harbour, park in one of the many, convenient garages and go to M %26amp; S Grill. It is run by McCormick %26amp; Schmick and the seafood is FAB-ulous. Phillips Seafood is also there and is a Maryland tradition. The seafood buffet is nice. Either place is sure to please your craving for crabcakes. Both have waterfront locations and very good views of the harbor.

4:00 p.m. will bring you to Charm City in about 4 to 4 1/2 hours, so plan to arrive between 8 and 8:30. Last call at most eateries is 9:00, so if you come later than that you might have to revise your plans.

D. C. is about an hour from Baltimore.
It's on the way, but 4pm! The traffic will be murder. The restaurants may be closed by the time you get there.Driving from NYC to washington dc- Is Baltimore on the way?
I95 goes right through Baltimore City. As you leave the city, you come to the Beltway on the West side. This is I695. You may want to take a short detour to the Glen Burnie area (less than 10 minutes away). They have lots of choices. See link showing restaurants in that area. G%26amp;M was good a few years ago, haven't tried it lately.
A quick look at a map would show that it is. NYC to DC is at least four hours--and that's in ideal traffic conditions, which it won't be--and Baltimore is about an hour's drive north of DC, also in ideal conditions, which it may be by the time you get down there.
yes baltimore is on the way depending on traffic you may be able to get crab cakes but if you're not there are several places all over mayland to get good crab cakes.
Yes, it's on the way.

There's a rest stop called the Baltimore Travel Plaza on I-95. I think it's just north of the tunnel. The cross street in front of the Plaza is called O'Donnell. If you follow O'Donnell westward to the end, then Boston Street a few more blocks, you'll find yourself in the Fells Point area which is a very nice place to while away a few hours. Many restaurants in that area.

This is only about a mile or so off the highway. Very easy to find your way back the same way.
