If you could visit any restaurant in Washington DC where would you go?

Just needed some info on where people would go in DC thanks! If you could visit any restaurant in Washington DC where would you go?
The problem with Washington DC is that too many places are sort of "wannabee" places. They try too hard to create an environment. The absolute worst of the bunch is Clyde's - typical yuppie fern bar with plenty of polished brass rails and an overpriced menu of food that tastes like it came out of a microwave.

If my budget was unlimited, then I would buy train tickets for all my friends and pack them onto an Amtrack and head to New York City. There are so many wonderful unpretentious eateries in New York that are run by families (Italians, Greeks, Yiddish, Spanish, Portuguese) that you can always find a really good meal that is better than anything that Washington DC has to offer.

Also noteworthy is the fact that New York City gets their water, which they cook with, from the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York, near the Canadian border. Good water to cook with is the very first ingredient in any well prepared meal. On the other hand, the water that they use to cook with in Washington DC comes from the muddy banks of the Potomac River (and if you've ever walked along the banks of the Potomac as I have, you will find plenty of hypodermic needles from intravenous drug users floating at the shoreline).
It dependents on my mood. If you want something quick and good, Five Guys or Ben's Chili Bowl are DC favorites. If you want a restaurant then Founding Farmers is the hot spot for professionals. I also like some of the smaller, ethnic places. Two Amy's is good for Pizza. I also like Bourbon. But right now it would be a flip between Founding Farmers and Marrakesh Palace. If you could visit any restaurant in Washington DC where would you go?
Inn at Little Washington or if it has to be IN DC then probably Minibar at Cafe Atlantico
The best restaurant in the Washington is often considered to be the Inn at Little Washington (actually in Washington, VA, a couple of hours from DC). I've never been there any probably never will because it costs about $250 a person with drinks, tax and tip, and I couldn't enjoy a meal I was paying that much for.

Personally, I really liked Palena.
I remember a grill, "Houston" on wisconsin ave... its crowded, but the atmosphere is WoW ! (evening) for Lunch, there is "Clyde"also in the same avenue. and around Adams Morgan, I had delicious food in an Afghan Restaurant (forgot the name, it was really long ago)
Georgia Brown's is awesome. Also BLue Duck Tavern in Foggy Bottom.
Obelisk on P St NW in Dupont Circle is amazing. Not cheap, but amazing.
How about Marty's where= burgers and beer are the main attractions at this Barracks Row favorite. The ribs and beef barbecue also can't be beat. Marty's serves up steaks that taste like they'd cost double and the restaurant's salads and sandwiches are good quality and a great value.
Loeb's Deli

Booymonger

Ben's Chili Bowl

Bistrot du coin (my personal favorite)
