A previous answer covered seafood fairly well. McCormick and Schmicks, as well as Legal Seafood are fantastic choices.

If you are looking for a fun and modestly priced dining experience, than I would strongly recommend dinner in Chinatown. From Reagan National Airport, take the Metro to the Gallery Place/Chinatown stop in downtown Washington DC. There are many small, but delicious Chinese restaurants that won't put a dent in your wallet.
Which airport? Dulles or DCA?

If you're at DCA, go to a place in Crystal City (basically right at the airport) called Jaleo. It's got great tapas. Right down the street from that is a McCormick and Schmick's, which is a steak/seafood place. Both are on Crystal Drive. There's also Legal Sea Food, which is off of 23rd Street by Route 1 (again, very close).

None of these places are cheap, but they won't totally wreck your budget. You can check them out online. What is a good and afordable restaurant in Washington DC?
