What do you recommend me seeing/doing when I visit DC?

What sites, stores, restaurants, attractions are there for me to check out? What do you recommend me seeing/doing when I visit DC?
You should check out the pork barrels, pundits, and wonks. Make sure to wear your tin foil hat to prevent mind control. Avoid drinking the Kool-aid.
It has always been wonderful to take a walk down in Old Town Alexandria, which you can get to by yellow line metro (King street station), and to walk in George Town at night (not accessible by metro). Also during the day, consider visiting the National Mall, where all the museums are. I specifically recommend the Smithsonian Museum. With regards to food, you should definitely try Ravi Kabab in Arlington Virginia, its a Pakistani restaurant about 15 minutes away from DC. Get the (Kabab Karahi). What do you recommend me seeing/doing when I visit DC?
it completely depends on your interests. there is the capitol and the smithsonian. washington monument, jefferson monument, vietnam memorial wall, lincoln monument, you should spend some time on the national mall looking at all that stuff. i personally really enjoyed teh nighttime bus tour of the monuments and stuff. i like the sackett gallery in the smithsonian. i love the national cathedral. there are boat rides on the potomac. there are lots of really good restaurants.

be sure to ride the metro (subway). there is a big mall at crystal city with lots of cool stores.
If you're a history lover go see some of the Smithsonian Museums but be prepared as they are quite expansive and there are a total of 19 different museums - pick and choose for yourself but my fave is the air and space museum
