Back in July, I quit working for a restaurant in Washington, DC. When I went in to collect my last paycheck, my boss had lost it and said he would contact corporate to get a new one sent. I have yet to see a single cent of that paycheck. I've contacted the US DOL about it, but I was told by someone that my employer might be obligated to pay me a penalty due to the extreme lateness of this check. Is this true?Is my former employer subject to a fee?
Just be happy to get it.. Don't cause waves.. Things like this can follow you..Is my former employer subject to a fee?
Under some state laws but not under federal law.
