Somewhere to stay between Niagara falls and washington DC??? Nice American town, night before halloween with t?

We are driving between Niagara falls and washington DC in October but don't know where to stay for the night to break up the journey.

We would like an all American town, with a few shops and restaurants but not a big city like Pennsylvania.



please help -

any suggestions welcomed.

I'd recommend Grove City, Pennsylvania. It is about 70-80 miles north of Pittsburgh, right off of route 79. It's a nice little town and is home to Grove City College. It has a kind of old-fashioned feel.



There's also a large outlet mall on the outskirts of Grove City. In Pennsylvania there's no sales tax on clothes, so you might want to stop by and do some early Christmas shopping.



From Niagra Falls, it's easy to get to: just follow route 90 south to route 79 south. Then to get to DC from Grove City, just take route 79 south to the PA turnpike 76.
over the summer we went to Vermont, it was absolutly geogeous, we went to Burlington, but we came from the mountains (from NH) and the scenery is beautiful and then you can go to burlington and even cross from NYState on a ferry and stay there, it has a dock and water and it is a very nice community, if you want more info i would be happy to provide (kayley_2004@hotmail.com)Somewhere to stay between Niagara falls and washington DC??? well you are lucky Pennsylvania. is not a city but name of one of the states! or did you mean Philadelphia?
