What are some good "mom and pop" type restaurants in the DC area?

It's a 24hr diner in DC... and Osman and Joe are both from Sierra Leone but they met up here at the original Steak and Egg Kitchen and decided to open their own place. It's like having a meal with family :)What are some good "mom and pop" type restaurants in the DC area?
